Atlanta police discuss July 4th security plans

Police are gearing up for another busy holiday weekend in Atlanta and say they're prepared to keep everybody safe.

Thursday morning, the Atlanta Police Department held a news conference to discuss security plans for the Fourth of July. 

"We're prepared to keep citizens and visitors safe at the annual city of Atlanta events," said Atlanta Police Chief George Turner. 

Chief Turner said there will be a strong law enforcement presence Monday morning at the Peachtree Road Race as well as at the evening fireworks shows at Centennial Olympic Park and Lenox Square.
