Woman hit, killed after walking into traffic on Atlanta interstate, police say

Woman killed walking on Atlanta interstate

Atlanta police are trying to figure out why a woman was walking on I-75/85 before being hit and killed by a car overnight.

ATLANTA - Multiple cars tried to swerve around a woman who reportedly entered the interstate on-foot early Saturday morning. One driver was unsuccessful.

Atlanta police responded to I-75/85 near Pine Street just after 2 a.m. where a woman had been hit and killed on the northbound side.

The male driver who hit her stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

Investigators are still looking into the incident.
