Several Atlanta city council members honor Actor Louis Gossett, Jr. for his contributions to the entertainment industry as an African-American performer.

During Monday's City Council meeting, Councilman Matt Westmoreland presented the Oscar winner with a proclamation to honor his accomplishments.

He was also presented with a Phoenix Award from the Office of the Mayor.

Gossett has done several projects in Atlanta and now his ties to the city are even deeper.

He says he just sold his Malibu home and moved here.
