ATLANTA - Atlanta city firefighters could soon see an increase in pay after a recent pledge by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Sources tell FOX 5 News data shows city firefighters lag behind not only comparable major cities but even some smaller departments in Georgia.

Atlanta fire has been losing personnel, requiring mandatory overtime for already short-staffed.

Wednesday, the mayor will reveal why the pay upgrade is necessary.
