April first is National Census Day.

Monday, the city of Atlanta launched its ATL Counts Census 2020 campaign with a rally at City Hall.

Organizers said the year-long project is a community effort to reach, teach, and count every person in the city, gearing up for the 2020 Census.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms spoke detailing some of the differences residents will see this next year.

Leaders said an accurate count in the 2020 census is critical to ensure Atlanta receives its fair share of public resources.
