Arthur Blank 'cancer free'
ATLANTA - Atlanta Falcons owner and notable Georgia philanthropist Arthur Blank said Thursday that he is now cancer free.
The 73-year-old co-founder of The Home Depot announced earlier this year that he was diagnosed with a treatable form of prostate cancer. Thursday, Blank spoke at the 2016 Georgia Technology Summit at the Cobb Galleria, announcing his good news.
Blank has been owner of the Atlanta Falcons for the past 14 years. He recently founded the 22nd Major League Soccer franchise the Atlanta United FC and has overseen construction of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the future home for his two teams.
He is currently engaged to Angela Macuga.
