Arrest made in shooting death of SE Atlanta man

ATLANTA - Police have arrested a man accused of murdering another man at a southeast Atlanta apartment last month. 

Wednesday morning police announced the arrest of Jeffries Anderson. 

According to police, Anderson shot and killed 30-year-old Alex Newton at the Alexan EAV apartments on Metropolitan Avenue. 

Police said Newton came home for lunch and walked in on a man burglarizing his apartment. Police said the man shot Newton and took off.

According to police, Anderson was caught on surveillance video.
