Armed suspect sought in Cobb County, Johns Creek bank robberies
JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - The FBI is searching for an armed suspect accused of robbing six different banks in Cobb County and Johns Creek since early February. A $2,500 reward if being offered for information leading to the man's capture.
In his most recent robbery in Johns Creek, the suspect was described as a white male, in his late 40s or early 50s, wearing brown leather gloves, a baseball hat, a jacket and blue jeans.
It occurred at the Renasant Bank on Medlock Bridge Road on September 8. Police say the man walked into the bank, pulled out a handgun from a dark colored briefcase and pointed at the teller. He got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
On August 22, 2016, police say a lone white male robbed the Fidelity Bank on Windy Ridge Parkway in Atlanta in a similar fashion. In this incident, the suspect was wearing a collared golf shirt, khaki pants, tan ball cap and dark sunglasses.
Between July and February 2016, authorities say the suspect robbed four other banks in Marietta. On at least one occasion, police say the suspect was seen canvassing a bank he robbed the next day.
In several incidents, the robber is seen pointing his handgun directly at the tellers and holding either a dark colored briefcase or messenger bag.
Police say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information about this case should contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-8477.
