Arborists volunteer to keep veteran cemeteries safe, beautiful

MARIETTA, Ga. - Atlanta area arborists spent Wednesday using their talents to honor those who have given their lives in service of their country and maintain veterans' final resting place.

Tree specialists were out at the Marietta National Cemetery trimming back branches and checking on the health of the trees, some which predate the 150-year-old cemetery.

Atlanta Arbor Tree Care Specialist, Mighty Fine Tree Care, Arbor Equity Inc., and Anglin Lawn Care were among the companies who volunteered for Saluting Branches, Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance.

The national service project will help maintain the health of trees at 36 cemetery sites this year. In just its first year, the group has amassed more than 1,100 volunteers and over $1,000,000 in donated services for the care and preservation of veteran’s cemeteries in order to keep them safe and beautiful sanctuaries.
