Several families are displaced after an apartment fire broke out at the Gazebo Park Apartments on Old Cowan Road in Acworth on Saturday afternoon.

A team of six Red Cross disaster volunteers is currently responding the fire at the apartment complex.  Three to four units were destroyed by the fire and approximately 16 others have water damage. Volunteers are meeting one-on-one with displaced residents to assess their  immediate emergency needs for such things as lodging, food and clothing.

Cobb County fire officials said that they do not know the cause of the fire.  Calls made to the fire department reported seeing flames coming from the roof of the building.

There are 20 units in the building, with 19 units occupied. No injuries have been reported.
