5-year-old dead, 2 people injured in Americus shooting
AMERICUS, Ga. - A shooting in Americus is under investigation after a 5-year-old girl was killed Saturday night.
What we know:
The deadly shooting happened in the 600 block of Eastview Circle at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The five-year-old victim was identified as Peyton Brielle Roberts of Americus.
A 19-year-old male was also taken to Phoebe Sumter Hospital where he remains in critical condition. A third victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
So far, there have been no arrests. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on the case, conducting interviews with witnesses.
