The Atlanta Braves honored a 12-year-old cancer survivor as a community hero.

Middle school student Bronco Reese is not only a heart transplant recipient, he's also a survivor of a form of lymphoma.

Even before he was in remission himself, Bronco created the organization Bronco's Benevolent Foundation.

The group collects new pajamas for children in the transplant wing and pediatric cancer wing at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Bronco's dad nominated his son for Community Heroes Week, a week-long celebration that honors inspiring people who've made a positive impact on their community.

So, the Braves showed up to Bronco's school to surprise him with the honor Tuesday.
