COVINGTON, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say one person has died after two dump trucks collided with one another and fell into the Yellow River near Covington.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office tells local news outlets that one of the two truck drivers was killed in the incident and the second driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred Sunday after one truck rear-ended the other. Officials say the trucks then hit a bridge and fell into the water.

Authorities have identified the deceased driver, but won't release the person's name until next of kin are notified.

Additional details haven't been provided. The investigation is ongoing.
