1 dead after shooting on Cornell Boulevard in west Atlanta

Atlanta police responded to a fatal shooting early Monday morning in the 3900 block of Cornell Boulevard SW.

What we know:

The shooting appears to have occurred shortly before 6 a.m. near Cornell and Dartmouth Drive SW in west Atlanta. 

According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers found a 30-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

What we don't know:

The identity of the man has not been released.

Police have not said what led to the shooting or whether anyone else was involved. 

Investigators have not released details on potential suspects, a motive, the type of weapon used, or whether any surveillance video may assist in the case. 

Officers also have not confirmed who called 911, how many shots were fired, or whether the victim lived in the area.
