Stomach-flipping fundraiser benefits CHOA
AUSTELL, Ga. - A lot of people say they like roller coasters. But a fundraiser happening today at Six Flags Over Georgia is forcing those coaster fans to put their money where their mouths are -- and to hold on for the ride of their lives.
The 5th annual Coasterthon is happening Thursday, August 4 at the popular Austell theme park, and involves dozens of riders battling it out to see who can last the longest on a marathon run of the 200-foot tall Goliath roller coaster. The event begins at 7 a.m., and participants will ride Goliath for six hours straight, with only a 5-minute break each hour! The Coasterthon raises money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and last year, the event raked in more than $12,000.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken has been known to do some crazy things on live television -- but is he willing to ride Goliath over and over again? We sent him to Six Flags Over Georgia this morning to find out.
