New Eagle Theatre 'soars' with opening production

Sugar Hill just got a lot sweeter, thanks to the addition of a performing arts theatre located right next to City Hall.  And right now, the brand-new Eagle Theatre is soaring, thanks to its inaugural production.

Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest is playing now through November 18th at the Eagle Theatre, presented by the City of Sugar Hill and the Players Guild of Sugar Hill.  It’s the first production at the Eagle Theatre, a 406-seat performing arts space which will now serve as a home base to the Players Guild at Sugar Hill and the Broad St. Concert Band.  City leaders say the theatre is a definitive step toward establishing a downtown entertainment district in Sugar Hill, and has already lined up several shows and touring acts, including art and music troupe Artrageous on December 13th.

The Eagle Theater is located at 5029 W. Broad Street in Sugar Hill, with parking available in underground decks beneath both City Hall and the E Center.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Eagle Theatre, exploring the new space and getting a look behind-the-scenes of The Importance of Being Earnest.
