“Dynamic” Stone Mountain Students Create Crowd-Pleasing Music

They’re called the “Dynamic Dolphins” – and some Stone Mountain third, fourth, and fifth graders are making a big splash in the world of music.

The Dynamic Dolphins is a group of Dunaire Elementary School students known for its energetic and creative xylophone performances.  The Dolphins perform under the direction of Chelsea Cook, who arranges pieces including the popular “Old School Medley” for the young musicians.  Cook instructs the students according to the Orff Approach, a method of music education which teaches kids to enjoy making music in groups and treats music as a basic, easy-to-learn language.  The Dynamic Dolphins have performed at the White House, and taken top honors at the Music USA Festivals in Orlando.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent some time hanging out with the Dynamic Dolphins, and even got to join in on the action!

Cirque Du Soleil Brings New Life To Hit Film Avatar

Cirque du Soleil is one of the most successful performing groups in the world, and Avatar is one of the most successful films ever made.  So what happens when you combine the two?

The answer can be found at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth from June 15-19, as “TORUK – The First Flight” takes over for seven performances.  The show is Cirque du Soleil’s 37th production since 1984, and is based on the hit 2009 James Cameron film Avatar.  This production takes place thousands of years before the events of the film, and centers around the Toruk, a vibrant creature in the Pandoran sky.  Performance continues through Sunday, and ticket information can be found here.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at the Infinite Energy Center, going behind-the-scenes of this exciting new production.

At Yeah Burger they call it, "Food you can love".   The reference is to their mission of providing on their menu, the most natural ingredients possible.  That includes organic produce, naturally raised proteins, and natural and organic dairy.

This is what they call, "Keeping it Real"!

And recently, their mission, along with their partnership with US Foods (the second largest food service operator in the country), earned them recognition on one of the most famous streets in the world...Wall St.

Last month, US Foods chose Yeah Burger as one of America's "hidden culinary gems", and Culinary Directory and Chef Cristy Nolton went to New York to cook up some of her signature, grass fed beef burgers at the first fully functioning outdoor kitchen in front of the New York Stock Exchange.  The focus was on local chefs and their impact on the way America eats today.  According to US Foods, 55% of America's restaurants are independently owned, but more than 60% of those close within the first year.

For Nolton, it was an awesome experience, serving her Fig and Goat Cheese Burger to the movers and shakers of the financial world, and to #BurgersWithBuck, this one was a no brainer.

It starts with a double stack of grass fed beef with hydroponic Bibb lettuce and carmelized onions on a locally baked H&F bun, but it's the blend of flavors provided by the sweetness of the house made fig jam and the tanginess of local goat cheese, that really sets this one apart.

Can I get a "YEAH"?

And if you are already a fan of Yeah Burger in Virginia Highland or West Midtown, have I got some good news for you.  Three new locations are in the works, perhaps coming to an area near you.  They will open two new stores in late 2016 including one at the Exchange in Buckhead, and another in Nashville.  Then in 2017, look for another new Yeah Burger at Peachtree Station in the Brookhaven/Chamblee area.

For more information on Yeah Burger including menu, locations, and their philosophy, go to their website http://www.yeahburger.com/.

And, as always, if you have a favorite burger that you would like to see featured on, tell me about it on https://www.facebook.com/BuckFOX5 or https://twitter.com/BuckFOX5, and don't forget to use the hashtag #BurgersWithBuck and/or #BWB.
