Camp Paul: Rock ‘n Blues Camp in Atlanta:

It’s a camp where having the blues is a good thing – and a place where youngsters can jam out with others who share the same interest in music.

The idea for Rock ‘n Blues Camp came about more than ten years ago, when musician “Chicago” Joe Jones decided to bring his teacher style to a larger pool to kids.  The result was a series of week-long camps, during which young musicians work with skilled teachers and get the experience of playing in a band.  The camp takes middle and high school players and singers, with experience levels ranging from “late beginner” to advanced.  There are five week-long sessions in 2016, and the camp is held at the Metropolitan Community Church in Atlanta from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily.  Each session ends with a Friday evening live performance.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Rock ‘n Blues Camp, jamming with some of this year’s young artists.
