It’s a tradition that began way back in 1846, when James K. Polk was still President of the United States.  Much has changed in the past 170 years – but the Georgia State Fair continues to entertain crowds.

This year’s Georgia State Fair takes place at Atlanta Motor Speedway from September 30 through October 9.  Fair attractions include live music from country music star John Michael Montgomery, a petting zoo, butterfly encounter, and Banana Derby (which involves monkeys riding dogs!).  All concerts are free with admission, which is ten bucks for adults 13 and older, five bucks for youth between the ages of 5 and 12, and free for kids four and under.  Ride wristbands are $25 for all ages.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning at Atlanta Motor Speedway, getting a taste of the fair with “America’s Got Talent” finalist Rhinestone Roper and more.
