Future Spielbergs study filmmaking at Marietta Summer Workshop

With Georgia rapidly becoming a top destination for filmmakers around the world, a unique summer workshop in Marietta is helping train the next generation of great directors.

Right now, students aged 14 to 18 are taking part in the P.O.V. Storytelling Workshop at The Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta.  The workshop was created with the support of the Downtown Marietta Development Authority and the Cobb Community Impact Grant, and challenges the teens to create short films over a two-week period (July 11-15 and July 18-22) with the help of industry professionals.  The workshop ends with a red carpet premiere of the short films, which is open to the public and will take place at The Stand on July 23 at 7 p.m.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning with the creative young men and women taking part in the P.O.V. Storytelling Workshop, and got a look at the creative process behind putting together a film.
