Burgers with Buck: ATL Burger Week Winner

It feels a bit like the day after Christmas, or maybe the day after your birthday. You had a great time, and you made a lot of great memories, but there’s just a little emptiness inside knowing that it is all over for another year.  Of course, we’re talking about #AtlantaBurgerWeek. If you didn’t take advantage of more than 40 Atlanta-area restaurants offering $5 burgers for a week...why not?

The winner was determined in a straight up fashion...whoever sells the most burgers, wins. And It was The Imperial in Oakhurst/Decatur that literally ran away with this year’s competition by selling 970 of their featured Mac Attack Burger.

Here we go… AJ Thompson is the brains behind the Mac Attack Burger, but she is quick to point out that the final product was a collaborative effort (even a regular customer weighing in with a suggestion). Underneath the substantial beef patty is a smoke and deep fried macaroni and cheese patty.

On top of the substantial beef patty is a healthy serving of gouda cheese sauce, topped with fried basil and sun dried tomatoes, and proscuitto. It is not only colorful to the eyes, but definitely to the taste buds as well.

Rounding out the Atlanta Burger Week top 5…
1.    The Imperial (Mac Attack Burger)
2.    Poke Burri (Korean BBQ Burger)
3.    Babalu (The Baba Burger)
4.    Atkins Park (The AP Bayou Burger)
5.    Zesto (The Chubbiest Decker)
