Batter up! New Atlanta business serves up tasty treats
ATLANTA - Licking the spoon is a tradition as old as baking itself, and let’s be honest, sometimes the cookie dough is even better than the actual cookie. And that’s why an Atlanta woman has decided to skip the “baking” part and is serving up sweet treats in their purest form.
Batter Cookie Dough Counter is open now at Atlanta’s Ponce City Market, and serves a dozen flavors of edible cookie dough to customers, ranging from chocolate chip to peanut butter to gingerbread.
Atlanta native Julie Abes says the idea came from her experience as a little girl, begging her mom to let her “lick the bowl” and always being turned down! Today, Abes creates her cookie dough batter in partnership with High Road Craft Ice Cream, and it’s egg-free, which means it’s safe to eat. The cookie dough is available by the scoop or customers can purchase pints to take home, and Batter Cookie Dough Counter also caters events including birthday parties and weddings.
Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken has a mouth full of sweet teeth, and couldn’t turn down the chance to try some cookie dough for breakfast. He spent the morning at Ponce City Market, hanging out with the team at Batter Cookie Dough Counter and doing a little “investigative” taste-testing!
