Atlanta taxidermy shop serves booming film industry
ATLANTA - Georgia's film industry shows so no signs of slowing down, with dozens of movies and television shows using Metro Atlanta locations on any given day. And when one of those productions needs something...well...a little unusual, there's one Atlanta woman standing by to help.
Diana Adelberg is the creator and owner of Absinthe Taxidermy Rentals & Sales, which offers a large collection of taxidermy for interested buyers and for use in the TV, movie, photography, and event fields. Adelberg's showroom is filled with both native (cats and squirrels) and exotic (giraffes) taxidermy, along with strange decor and curiosities involving insects, bats, and bones. Adelberg has amassed her collection from various sources, including museums and estate sales, and yes, some of it comes right from the road; Adelberg says she's used to getting calls from family and friends who spot roadkill and think she might be interested.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spend some time exploring the Absinthe Taxidermy Rentals & Sales showroom, learning more about how Diana Adelberg's wild menagerie is becoming an indispensable part of the Georgia film scene.
