Atlanta gets an early 'White Christmas' this year

If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas yet again, there’s some good news — thanks to the iconic music of Irving Berlin and some spectacular stage magic, the forecast is looking very, very promising this year.

The national tour of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas will blanket the stage at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre beginning on November 27th, bringing the classic 1954 movie musical to life for eight performances.  Originally starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen, White Christmas tells the story of a spirited quartet of entertainers who take over a Vermont inn and stage an unforgettable holiday showcase.  The touring stage version not only keeps that story intact, but also features the movie’s classic Irving Berlin songs, including “Sisters,” “Snow,” “Count Your Blessings,” and “White Christmas,” along with some new additions from the Berlin songbook.

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas runs at the Fox Theatre from November 27th through December 2nd, with shows at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and two shows each on Saturday and Sunday.  Tickets start at $31.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken is a big White Christmas fan, and as a meteorologist, he felt it necessary to spend the morning at the Fox Theatre to make an accurate forecast of this holiday extravaganza!
