Atlanta-area shoppers prepare to 'treasure' hunt at annual sale

You don’t have to be Indiana Jones to go searching for lost treasure — especially when an annual Metro Atlanta sale makes it so easy to bring home a carload of riches without sacrificing that hard-earned paycheck.

This year’s Tossed Out Treasures is happening Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd at the old Michael’s in the Perimeter Pointe Shopping Center in Sandy Springs.  In case you haven’t seen it on Good Day Atlanta in previous years, Tossed Out Treasures is a huge fundraising event for The Sandy Springs Society, featuring thousands of gently-used items ranging from designer clothes and antique furniture to linens and household items.

All of the items are donated by community members, and proceeds go to The Sandy Springs Society, which supports a variety of organizations in Sandy Springs.

Tossed Out Treasures officially kicks off on Thursday evening with a Preview Party from 6 to 9 p.m., which costs $40 at the door and gives attendees the first chance to treasure-hunt inside.  There’s also an Early Bird Sale on Friday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. which costs $10 at the door, before the sale opens for regular hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

But for the real first look inside, Good Day Atlanta’s feature team spent the morning in Sandy Springs, rummaging through the racks of clothes and boxes of books, doing what they do best — shopping!
