The 680 The Fan Call of the Week was at Lovett as the Lions host the Westminster Wildcats. Karl Werl and Doug Konkel called the action as photojournalist Eli Jordan captured it all.

Here are just some of those calls from the game:

"On a cool, blustery night, the wind blows throughout Alfred E. Thompson Stadium sending the smell of freshly cooked burgers through the stands.

"The combatants have their buckets strapped on tight as the Number 2 Westminster Wildcats hosts the Number 6 Lovett Lions in key AAA Region 5 match up.

"Inside the 25, down to the 23 as we go under nine minutes in the first quarter. No score, but Lovett driving.

"Crawford Schwieger lined up in the back field with Brady Tindall. They'll go on the misdirection trap like. Tindall calls his own number. He's on the 15, 10, 5... Dives for the end zone and he's in for the six.

"The clock runs out here on the first half.

"Westminster Wildcat hands off to [Zay] Malcome right from the get-go. He breaks one tackle, he's on his feet at the 40, 45, crosses midfield now turns on the jets and he loses the ball! Malcome loses the ball and Lovett has recovered down inside their own 30-yard line.

"It was K.J. Wallace, comes up behind Zay Malcome.

"A streak of five games that Westminster has come out in the second half and taken the opening drive for a score, has ended on the fumble.

"Ward Croft looking over the defense, four yards deep. And now Ward Croft looking to throw, looking down field, Nance Hill with the catch and he's in for six from 41 yards out. 7-7 ball game with 8:47 to go in the 3rd quarter."

Westminster goes on to win it 17-10. Still undefeated in AAA Region 5, the Wildcats will end their regular season with two regional battles, next week Towers and Stone Mountain the week after that.

Lovett dropping down to 3-2 in the region will take on Pace Academy and McNair to round out their regular season.
