KODAK, Tenn. - With the Braves rough start to the season, Braves fans are left looking for something to cling to. Enter Dansby Swanson. The organization's number one prospect has been on fire so far this season. He currently leads all of the minor league's with 15 doubles.
Swanson spent the first 21 games of the season in High-A ball with the Carolina Mudcats. He hit .333 with that team before being promoted to Class AA Mississippi. In his first game with Mississippi he had a 3 RBI game with a double and a home run. In his first six games in AA he has hit .391.
"How I go about everything is I just do what I do everyday and worry about what I can control. That's all, honestly, that you can worry about," says Swanson.
Swanson's hot start may seem unusual for a player just drafted eleven months ago, but he is 22 years old and played his college baseball in one of the most competitive conferences in the country, the SEC.
"The SEC has a lot of talent, but once you get into professional baseball it's a little more polished. Guys are working on their craft everyday so their able to be more consistent in what they do," says Swanson.
