Big Show recap - Week Eight
ATLANTA - It was a big week for HIGH 5 Sports this week and all before we even hit the fields. Speaking of Field, Harrison High's Justin Fields, the nation’s top quarterback recruit, made his choice Friday for where he plans to play college ball. Check it out here.
But later in the day, the other teams came to play. And it was a week of huge wins and even more devastation losses.

Play of the Night
This week’s Play of the Night comes from the Habersham Central-Gainesville game. The Raider’s A.J. Curry dropped a bomb right into the arms of Jim Barnett who made a spectacular catch on the very first play of the game. We’ll have more on that and how the Red Elephants responded a little later down.

Brookwood at Meadowcreek
Could this be the story of the year? The Meadowcreek Mustangs, a former HIGH 5 Team of the Week, were undefeated going into Friday night's game against the Brookwood Broncos. But can they keep it going?

East Hall at GAC
The 5-1 East Hall Vikings were at Greater Atlanta Christian to face the Spartan men. It’s a battle for the Region 7-AAA!

Westlake at East Coweta
It was a Region 2-AAAAAAA opener in Coweta County as the Westlake Lions came to play against the East Coweta.

KRod then threw it down to the Bunker and to Cody who took us to the White County-Blessed Trinity game.

Chattahoochee at Johns Creek – Call of the Week
The 680 The Fan Call of the Week featured Karl Werl and Doug Konkle’s calling the action at the Chattahoochee-Johns Creek game. The Cougars are trying to keep pace with Alpharetta in Region 7-AAAAAA. Our own Eli Jordan provides the images.

Back at the Habersham Central-Gainesville game which was earlier previewed by way of the Play of the Night clip. These teams are a couple of 1-4 teams, but this was their region opener, so anything could happen!

Villa Rica at Carrollton
Next, we headed out west for the Villa Rica-Carrollton game was a tough Region 7-AAAAA matchup. Neither team could afford to slip up during this game!

The Cedartown Bulldogs and Central-Carroll Lions are both trailing Troup and Cartersville in Region 5-AAAA. Both played to win just to keep.

Shoals at Oconee County – Mic’D Up
Most of the time we get the games directly #INYOURFACE. But sometimes, we like to show you what a game looks like through someone else’s eyes. This week, we Mic’D Up Cedar Shoals Coach Leroy Ryals before their game with Oconee County… and he talked up a storm!

After stumbling out of the gate, KRod’s Mighty McEachern Indians have won three in a row! They go into Friday night’s game 3-2 against Coach Queen’s North Cobb Warriors. It’s a top 10 battle of the big boys!

Sprayberry at Harrison
Harrison was having a huge day with the aforementioned announcement by quarterback Justin Fields pick of UGA to continue his football career. That verbal commitment happened during a morning pep rally for the Hoyas, but then the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets came to play later that night.

Undefeated, but unranked… The North Paulding Wolfpack was at Hillgrove to face the Hawks. It was a Region 3-AAAAAA opener. What’s up?!

Bill Hartman and Super Blaine then took us to Hall County where Chestatee was playing at West Hall in a battle for our Game of the Week.
