Following the initial response, investigators from the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, along with Special Agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), were called in to investigate.

The GBI and Whitfield County investigators worked closely, and with the help of public tips, Puentes was located and taken into custody without further incident.
