'Weather Channel' Meteorologist Killed in Parking Garage Crash

ATLANTA - A long-time meteorologist at the Weather Channel was killed in a Midtown crash on Sunday.
Atlanta Firefighters said Nick Wiltgen drove his car through the wall of a Midtown parking garage.
The Atlanta Police Department's Accident Investigation Unit responded to the garage attached to the W hotel around 5:30 Sunday evening.
Witnesses told investigators the man was driving a 2007 Volkswagen EOS 3.2 "at a high rate of speed" before he hit the wall and broke through the other side to a hotel storage area. A worker inside that storage space was hit and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Wiltgen died at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
The Weather Channel said the Wiltgen worked there for 15 years as a senior digital meteorologist.
