WATCH: Mother pup reunited with puppies at shelter
NOVATO, Calif. - The sweet moment a mother dog realizes she is being reunited with her puppies after she was surrendered to a shelter was captured on video and her reaction is just priceless.
In the video posted by the Marin Humane Society in California, you can see the mother pup cowering in the back corner of the shelter's room. The shelter workers said she was scared when she and another dog were surrendered by their owner.
After an examination, the shelter realized that she had recently had puppies, so workers convinced the person who surrendered the dogs to also surrender the puppies.
Video was rolling as the puppies were brought into the pen in a carrier. One of the workers is seen taking each puppy out of the carrier, one by one. The mother pup's curiosity is piqued as the worker shows her each pup and she comes over to investigate.
As one commenter noted on the Facebook post, the mother's personality completely changes from terrified to excited as her tail begins to wag and she begins to interact with the puppies. They begin to nurse before she gets a chance to calm down.
"We captured the moment when sad and scared mom got to see her puppies again. Tears of joy all around at this happy reunion," the shelter posted on its page.
The mother pup is named "Cora" and the puppies are Carson, Branson, Moseley, and Edith, all in honor of Downton Abbey.
