Wanted man rams police car during chase
ALPHARETTA, Ga. - An overnight chase of a wanted man in a van ended in his arrest, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.
38-year-old Ely Gomes Araujo was charged with fleeing and eluding, DUI Alcohol less safe, reckless driving, obstruction, traffic light violation, passing in a no passing zone, driving on the wrong side of a roadway, and failure to maintain lane, according to police.
Officers say they saw a van driving erratically and dangerously. The officer's attempt at a traffic stop was unsuccessful, and a chase continued into an apartment complex.

Police say the suspect used an access card to open the gate, and rammed a police car during the chase.
The suspect told police he was trying to make it to his house. Authorities say the man was wanted on federal charges through ICE.
No one was injured and damage was kept to a minimum.
