Virginia McLaurin, who danced with President Obama and First Lady, celebrates 107th birthday
WASHINGTON - A special 107th birthday celebration is in store for Virginia McLaurin, the woman whose energetic visit with President and First Lady Obama went viral online.
The celebration for McLaurin, who turns 107 on Saturday, included a catered luncheon given by the United Planning Organization – of which she is a member.
McLaurin will also receive a special gift from Howard University Radio and Bob's Discount Furniture -- a $5,000 home makeover complete with new living room, bedroom, and dining room furniture.
In February, McLaurin fulfilled her dream of visiting the White House and meeting President Obama. She chatted with the President and even danced with the First Lady.
"It was an honor for me," she told us after her trip. "I really jumped for joy."
