COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Police said surveillance video shows two women teaming up to rob a Cobb County store owner.
The video shows a woman distracted her while another woman leans over the counter and takes her credit card. The women then go on a $10,000 shopping spree with those cards.
It's surveillance video that boils the blood of Lauren Wallace every time she watches it. Wallace owns Change It Up, a children’s new and resale boutique on Lower Roswell Road.
She told FOX 5 News two women walked into her store last week. One diverted her attention to the back and while the other went to work. The woman in the ball cap glanced over the counter once, twice, and on the third glance she leans over that counter and reached into Wallace’s purse hidden underneath and swiped her wallet. She took out what she wanted and put it back.
The two women then meet back at the front counter. One buys a pair of kids shoes, pays with cash and they leave.
Wallace said she didn’t even know anything was wrong until that night. That’s when she said she found out her credit cards had been used on a shopping spree at a number of Lenox Road area businesses such as Bloomingdales, Nordstrom’s, Target, CVS, and TJ Maxx. They made off with $10,000 worth of stuff.
Now, this small business owner wants them caught.
