Two men wanted in Holly Springs theft, high-speed crash
HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police need help to identify two suspects accused of stealing from a Holly Springs Walmart before crashing during a high-speed chase.
In the overnight hours Monday morning, two men went to the Walmart located on Holly Springs Parkway and allegedly pushed out four large-screen televisions. They loaded them into a stolen white van.
The Holly Springs Police Department said officers attempted to pull over the Ford Econoline van with government tags along Interstate 575 around 1:30 a.m., but the van sped off toward Atlanta.
Officers ended up performing a PIT maneuver near the Interstate 75 merge, ending the pursuit, according to police. The truck struck the median wall and caught fire, police said.
An officer was injured in the chase. That officer was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and was later released.
The two men fled from the accident scene.
Anyone with information on their identities is asked to contact the Holly Springs Police Department at 770-721-7529.
