Police say alcohol is likely a factor in an overnight shooting at a busy Lawrenceville restaurant that left two people injured.

The incident happened outside of the Applebee’s on Duluth Highway Saturday night.

Investigators told FOX 5 a group of at least four people got into a heated argument inside of the establishment, which spilled out into the parking lot. That's where officers said two men exchanged gunfire and more than 10 shots were fired.

Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital.

Crews had to tow away a few damaged cars following the incident.

Police say they are interviewing several witnesses in an effort to establish a motive as well as the primary aggressor in the case. However, no one is in custody at this time.

“Getting conflicting stories. We’ll have to do all the interviews. The investigation will lead to the facts of the case, but it look like part of the problem was alcohol,” said Sergeant Brad Grove.

The investigation is ongoing.
