SWAT Santa delivered Christmas gifts in Cobb County this year.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Christmas arrived with a special twist in Cobb County, where police officers teamed up with "SWAT Santa" to spread holiday joy. This unique program, which has become an annual tradition, delivers gifts to deserving families throughout the community.
SWAT Santa, a retired local resident who decided to take on the festive role after attending Santa school, shared his enthusiasm for the event. "I retired when I was 66 years old. I didn’t like being retired and not doing anything," he said. "So I went to Santa school and became the SWAT Santa for Cobb County. I look forward to it every year."
Dressed in blue to match the officers, SWAT Santa joined the police in their BearCat vehicle to hand-deliver presents to families. One mother, who recently moved to Georgia from Chicago, expressed her gratitude. "You’re making kids’ Christmas wishes and dreams come true," she said. "You didn’t have to pick my family, but you did, and I want to say thank you. This is a blessing."
Another recipient, a single mother, shared how much the gifts meant to her and her young children. "I really appreciate it. It was much needed," she said.
Children also enjoyed a special treat from an ice cream truck that was part of the festivities. SWAT Santa reflected on the event, saying, "I love seeing the children and their smiles every year."
Cobb County’s SWAT Santa program continues to embody the spirit of the season, delivering more than just gifts—it brings joy and hope to families in need.
