What we know:

Officers responded to the area on the 100 block of Burbank Drive after receiving reports of shots fired at around 1 a.m. When they got to the scene, officers say they heard a gunshot found inside the home.

Outside the home, police found a woman and a child and brought them to safety. The woman told officers that she was the wife of the suspect and that he was "having a mental health crisis due to the passing of a family member."

The woman said that her husband was still in the home along with an 8-year-old boy, which led officers to call a SWAT team to the scene.
