Suspect sought in Newton County armed robbery

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities in Newton County are asking for the public’s help to identify an armed robbery suspect.

The masked suspect is shown in surveillance video entering the Marathon gas station on Highway 278 the night of December 7th. He then jumps onto the counter, pulls out a gun and demands cash from the clerk, authorities said. The suspect fled on foot with a unknown amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male with a white handkerchief covering his entire face. He was last seen wearing all black clothing.
