One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting that left a car overturned in the parking lot of a McDonalds on Godby Road in College Park.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, a Fulton County police officer responded to the Baby Grand Piano Bar on Old National Highway for report of a person struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer encountered the suspected vehicle and he, along with a security guard, discharged their weapons, authorities say. The vehicle continued to flee the scene, but wrecked a short distance away in the parking lot of the restaurant.

The suspect was transported to Grady Hospital, where he later died.
