The Cherokee County man charged in the murder of his mother is due in court Tuesday.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office told Fox 5, Michael Jacobs, 21, admitted to stabbing his mother 54-year-old Melony Jacobs inside their apartment at  Brookmill Apartments on Downsby Lane in Woodstock Sunday night. When deputies arrived, they located Jacobs and his dead mother inside the apartment. She appeared to have multiple stab wounds to her body, according to authorities.

Officials said the stabbing came after some sort of domestic dispute. Some neighbors in the complex said they didn't hear anything the night of the incident. However Edward Kozak said he noticed tension between the two. Plus, Michael Jacobs always kept to himself.

"He would walk around and not say word. You could tell he wasn't all there," Kozak said.

Jacobs was taken to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center and booked on Felony Murder and Murder with Malice charges.

Jacobs is being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
