Smyrna police investigate road rage incident in subdivision
SMYRNA, Ga. - A local neighborhood is on edge after a road rage incident over the weekend.
Smyrna Police confirmed to FOX 5 they're investigating a confrontation that happened Saturday afternoon in Vinings Estates.
Elizabeth Ewing spoke with FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell Sunday. She said, while she and her boyfriend backed out of her parent's driveway on Whitehaven Park Lane, they came within a feet of a car on the street.
She said the man driving the black BMW wouldn't move. So, she honked. At that point, Ewing said the man became angry and shouted profanity. Her boyfriend then got out of the car to direct traffic around and the man pulled out a gun, according to Ewing.<
"As soon as my boyfriend put his feet on the ground...about to close the door. I looked to my left, and I saw the guy pull a gun," Ewing told Mitchell.
The group exchanged words and the man eventually drove off. The couple called police.
"It was a crazy instance," Ewing said. "I'm still very shaken up about it."
Neighbors told Mitchell they are aware of the incident and plan to keep a look out for the man or any other suspicious activity.
