School bus bursts into flame in coastal Georgia neighborhood

Officials say no one was injured when fire broke out aboard a school bus on a residential street in coastal Georgia.

News outlets report the bus caught fire at about 7 a.m. Tuesday in a Savannah subdivision. Flames engulfing the front of the bus were extinguished by firefighters who began arriving within minutes.

Savannah-Chatham County schools spokeswoman Sheila Blanco said there were no children riding the bus and the driver was able to evacuate safely.

It was not immediately known what caused the fire. Authorities said they are investigating.
