Residents concerned following deadly Midtown beating
ATLANTA - Atlanta Police have stepped up patrols and have been actively canvassing the Midtown area following a brutal and deadly beating of a homeless man along Peachtree Street.
Investigators released a new series of photos of a man they call a “person of interest” in the brutal murder of 59-year-old Moses Cooper. Police said Cooper was brutally beaten on the sidewalk and left for dead at the entrance to the 805 Peachtree condo building around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators believe Cooper was attacked in his sleep.
The ongoing search for suspects is fresh on the mind of Midtown resident Chris Lewis. Like many, Lewis is often on foot in the busy stretch of Midtown where the crime occurred.
HE says he walks the area where this happened often.
"Absolutely I do, and I have many times " Lewis says. "That is something I am going to think twice about next time maybe options such as Uber and Lyft. I'm concerned, it's too close to home."

Thursday, investigators released video of two individuals who they believe frequented the area and to who they would like to speak.
Police said other than the surveillance videos and a bloody shoe print leading away from the body, they don’t have many leads. The condo building does have a safety officer, but police said he didn't hear anything suspicious.
Anyone who recognizes the two men or has information in the death is asked to call the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
