Report: Atlanta federal inmate made 49-minute Facebook Live
ATLANTA - An Akron, Ohio man serving a 39-month prison sentence on a weapons charge in Atlanta's Federal Penitentiary admitted on a Facebook Live that he was involved in a death for which another person was sentenced.
FOX 8 Cleveland reported Joseph Fletcher, 30, once described by police as 'one of Akron's most dangerous individuals,' somehow made the 49-minute video unsupervised from what appears to have been a phone smuggled into his prison cell.
In the video, Fletcher called himself a "motivational speaker for gangsters," claimed he "runs Akron," and discussed a 2010 murder of a man found shot to death inside his car in Ohio. Another man took negotiated a plea deal in that case for voluntary manslaughter and family members of the deceased told FOX 8 Cleveland they question the validity of Fletcher's claims.
No word on how Fletcher was able to use a phone in prison or if Akron Police plan to invest Fletcher's claims.
