Rep. John Lewis headlines Black History Month event
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - It was a special celebration of Black History Month Monday at the Porsche North America Headquarters in Atlanta.
Hundreds of employees joined together for a luncheon and conversation with special guest, Rep. John Lewis.
FOX 5 Anchor Cynné Simpson had the privilege of conducting the interview Monday afternoon.
Rep. Lewis spoke candidly about the struggles during the civil rights movement.
And even though he's a firm believer in non-violence, he was beaten and arrested on countless occasions.
And he says his experience was not unique.
One way in which Lewis said we must all keep the faith is by continuing to stay involved and politically engaged.
He said the right to vote was a hard-fought battle that must never be forgotten.
