Red Cross: 18 families displaced by Gwinnett County apartment fire

About 18 families were displaced Monday afternoon after a fire tore their apartment building in Gwinnett County.

It happened in the Ashford Apartment located in 6800 block of Bebout Drive NW near Norcross. Gwinnett County Fire officials said they found smoke coming from one of the buildings when they arrived.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene around 5:10 p.m. and found the roof burned through on one of the buildings.

The Atlanta Red Cross said they assisted 12 families, including 30 people, secure food and safe lodging for the evening. Another six families made other arraignments.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
