Railing collapse critically injures two men
ATLANTA - Two men were critically injured after a railing collapsed at a northwest Atlanta restaurant late Wednesday night.
According to police, the men were at Marcel, located in the Westside Provision District at the intersection of 14th Street and Howell Mill. Investigators said one of the victims was leaning on the metal railing when it gave way.
Police said the other guy reached for the first man, and ended up going down as well. Both victims fell one story.
Police at the scene said the men were in pretty bad shape, but doctors at Grady Memorial Hospital managed to stabilize them. At last check the victims were listed in critical condition. Their names have not been released.
Thursday, building inspectors are expected to follow up on what happened.
