Puppy, car taken from Atlanta gas station

A Kennesaw man wants his little puppy back after police said his car was stolen over the weekend.

Tyler McMullen stopped at the Chevron station on Piedmont Avenue and Ponce De Leon Blvd on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. Atlanta Police said he left the car running to keep his 4-year-old golden Labrador warm while he went inside to use the bathroom and get a drink.

Police said when he got outside, his blue 2006 Mercedes-Benz sedan was gone along with his pup.

Officers were able to follow the vehicle for a short time and track it using video surveillance in Midtown, but officers lost the vehicle.

Police said a man in a light-colored hoodie was last seen driving the vehicle. The car has a Florida tag of VD64S.

Investigators are reviewing store surveillance to hope to have a better look at the thief.

Anyone with information is asked to the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
