Publix donates books, 'Little Libraries'
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Publix donated several Little Free Libraries to United Way of Metro Atlanta.
Those are the small wooden boxes filled with books which are meant to be a free book exchange.
As part of Publix's philanthropy project for the year, associates collected more than 14,000 books and built 132 of the little free libraries.
They were starting to distribute those throughout seven states including in Georgia.
United Way will place the little libraries with several of their metro Atlanta partners including YMCA facilities, schools, and homeless shelters.
